I have dental anxiety, what do you do for my anxiety?

We do all we can to provide a comfortable and safe environment for all our patients

  1. We believe that building a trusting relationship with the patient is essential. We take the time to listen to patients’ concerns, empathize with their fears, and address any questions or uncertainties they may have about dental treatment.
  2. We believe in clear and open communication about the treatment process, including what to expect during the procedure, can help alleviate patient anxiety. We explain procedures in simple terms, using visual aids if necessary, and encourage patients to ask questions.
  3. We show empathy and understanding towards patients’ fears and anxieties can go a long way in helping them feel more comfortable. We validate patients’ feelings and reassure them that their concerns are being taken seriously.
  4. We use a gentle approach when interacting with fearful patients, both in their mannerisms and in their techniques during dental procedures.
  5. Fear of pain is a common reason for dental anxiety. Dentists can use various pain management techniques, such as topical anesthetics, local anesthesia, and sedation options, to ensure patients are comfortable during treatment.
  6. We respect patients’ autonomy and involve them in the decision-making process regarding their treatment options. Giving patients a sense of control can help reduce feelings of helplessness and anxiety.
  7. Our dentists and hygienists take additional training or continuing education in techniques for managing dental fear and anxiety. This can help them stay up-to-date on the latest approaches and strategies for helping fearful patients feel more comfortable during dental treatment.
