Student dental plan: York University
Policy year is from September 1st 2024 to August 31st 2025 (fall/full-year studies)
January 1st 2025 to August 31st 2025 (winter studies)
Annual Maximum: $600
Basic Services:
- Complete oral examinations, full series x-rays and panoramic x-rays are covered once every 3 years, based on the date of the first paid claim.
- Emergency and specific oral examinations are covered as needed.
- Recall exams & bitewing x-rays covered once per benefit year.
- Cleanings are covered for 1 unit of polishing and up to 1 unit of scaling, once per recall period.
- Fluoride is covered once per recall period.
- Space maintainers are covered as necessary.
- Protective mouth guards are covered once every 12 months, based on the date of the first paid claim.
Basic Restorative Services:
- Amalgam, tooth-coloured and temporary sedative fillings are covered.
Basic Oral Surgery:
- Extractions and/or residual roots are covered.
- General anesthesia, deep sedation, and intravenous sedation are covered in conjunction with eligible oral surgeries.
Comprehensive Basic Services:
- Endodontic treatments such as root canals, pulpotomy/pulpectomy, and more.
- Periodontal scaling and/or root planing is covered up to 4 units per benefit year.
Certain exclusions and limitations may apply. Prior to dental treatment for work that is expected to cost $300 or more, students should submit a treatment plan obtained from their dentist to their insurance company for approval.
