Student dental plan: University of Guelph
Policy year is from September 1st 2024 to August 31st 2025 (fall/full-year studies)
January 1st 2025 to August 31st 2025 (winter studies)
Annual Maximum: $600
Diagnostic & Preventive:
- Recall exams are covered once per benefit year.
- Complete oral exams are covered once per dentist per lifetime.
- Emergency or specific exams are covered.
- Consultations are covered once per benefit year.
- Bitewing x-rays are covered up to 4 films per benefit year.
- Panoramic x-rays are covered once every 36 months.
- Occlusal radiographs are covered up to 4 films per benefit year.
- Periapical x-rays are covered up to 16 films every 36 months.
- Polishing is covered up to 1 unit per benefit year.
- Scaling is covered up to 2 units per benefit year.
- Fluoride is covered for 1 treatment per benefit year.
Minor Restorative:
- Space maintainers and maintenance only covered if under 15 years of age.
- Amalgam (silver) fillings are covered 1 per tooth every 24 months.
- Composite resin (tooth coloured) fillings are covered 1 per tooth every 24 months, limited to once every two years on the same tooth surface.
- Silicate fillings are covered 1 per tooth every 24 months.
Oral Surgery & Extractions:
- Wisdom teeth removal is covered.
- Residual root removal is covered.
- General anesthesia is eligible when done in conjunction with oral surgical procedures.
Certain exclusions and limitations may apply. Prior to dental treatment work that is expected to cost $300 or more, students should submit a treatment plan obtained from their dentist to your insurance company for approval.
